SUMMARY:Scotts Valley Performing Arts presents Annie
DESCRIPTION:The Scotts Valley Performing Arts (SVPA) production of Annie is a musical based on the 1924 comic strip, Little Orphan Annie. The play tells the story of Annie, a young orphan who lives in a miserable orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan.\nEven though her parents abandoned her at the orphanage as a baby, she holds on to the hope that they will “maybe” come back for her. Annie decides to escape to find her parents, but is caught by Miss Hannigan. To punish Annie’s behavior, she forces all the girls to clean, and they lament the terrible conditions of the orphanage with “It’s A Hard Knock Life”.\nAnnie escapes, running into a friendly stray dog.
